It is a highly efficient ceramic micro filter which provides genuine sub micron filtration to your drinking water.
The Doulton Super Sterasyl is a two stage cartridge combining the highly efficient filtration properties of ceramic with the enhanced water treatment properties of activated carbon. It carries a filtration efficiency of 99.99% at 0.9 micron absolute and 99.9% efficiency at 0.2 micron nominal.
We recommend replacing this cartridge every 12-24 months dependent on water quality and usage. Suits all (standard) 10” housings.

2-Stage filtration process
Stage 1 – Doulton ceramic
This stage reduces fine particulate matter, bacteria, cysts and turbidity. The incorporation of silver locked within the ceramic structure gives enhanced bacteriostatic and self sterilising properties.
Stage 2 – Carbon block 1 micron post filter
An inner core of activated carbon block removes chlorine and organic compounds.

Due to the carbon exhaustion change Supersterasyl candles every six months.
Pleated sediment filters are a cost effective way of removing dirt, rust, algae and other suspended contaminants from the water. They have a large surface area due to the pleats and therefore a low pressure loss through the filter. The filters can be cleaned although this does not clean them back to new, it will however extend their life. 1 micron cartridges and below are too fine to successfully clean, doing so will only marginally extend their life.
Designed to be used as a pre-filter in a standard system. A String Wound filter cartridge is manufactured from surfactant-free polypropylene string over a polypropylene core. The large void volume design offers low-cost, reliable filtration performance with high contaminant holding capacity. These sediment filters are compatible with most liquids and are highly effective for sediment, rust, sand, silt, and algae removal.
