These candles provides: 100% rejection of cysts and >99.99% of pathogenic bacteria such as cholera, typhus, amoebic dysentery, ecoli, colibacillose or bilharzia, anthrax spores among others.
The Supersterasyl is a Sterasyl shell packed with selective activated carbon for chlorine, bad taste and odor, pesticides, herbicides and industrial solvents reduction. Due to the carbon exhaustion change Supersterasyl candles every six months.

They are made from spun bonded polypropylene, the manufacturing technique of these cartridges results in no centre core to the filter, thus not restricting the filter performance. The materials also provide a resilient barrier to bacterial/chemical influence – preventing any build of unwanted waste (e.g. algae). These sediment filters are compatible with most liquids and are highly effective for sediment, rust, sand, silt, and algae removal.
Pleated sediment filters are a cost effective way of removing dirt, rust, algae and other suspended contaminants from the water. They have a large surface area due to the pleats and therefore a low pressure loss through the filter. The filters can be cleaned although this does not clean them back to new, it will however extend their life. 1 micron cartridges and below are too fine to successfully clean, doing so will only marginally extend their life.
