These Carbon filters employ a high grade carbon with industry-leading surface area allowing for the greatest efficiency of the carbon absorption. GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) is simply carbon in the form of granules. This increases the surface area available for absorption of the unwanted chemicals within your water supply. It also extends the life of the cartridge, maximizing time between cartridge changes. This filter cartridge is Tested and Certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material requirements only.
Cartridge shells that can be cleaned and reused with GAC. These cartridge shells are designed to be filled with GAC for use within a Whole House/High Flow filter system. They can be washed and reused at the time of replacing the media within – providing an economic means to filtration for your entire home. Pleated sediment filters are a cost effective way of removing dirt, rust, algae and other suspended contaminants from the water. They have a large surface area due to the pleats and therefore a low pressure loss through the filter. The filters can be cleaned although this does not clean them back to new, it will however extend their life. 1 micron cartridges and below are too fine to successfully clean, doing so will only marginally extend their life.
